Ealing leads the way in #SecondHandSeptember

ActForEaling’s new sustainable fashion campaign is inspiring and discovering an amazing wave of fashion talent in the borough. #EalingSewnUp has attracted a brilliant array of skills from models to stylists to designers – keep an eye on AfE’s new Instagram account to see the latest homegrown fashion gems: www.instagram.com/ealingsewnup/!

EalingSewnUp has over ten partners making the magic happen, as well as lots of volunteers helping out. Falcons Pre-Prep Chiswick has funded an incredible programme of  Design It Yourself workshops for primary schools in Ealing. Greenford’s Edward Betham pupils were the first to enjoy a Sustainable fashion workshop where they learned all about how to to be creative and sustainable when it comes to their fashion choices. At the end of the workshop the pupils were full of brilliant ideas to build on what they learned to stop more clothes from going to landfill – no wonder they were recently awarded Eco-school Green Flag status with merit!

Questors is kindly providing invaluable space for modelling rehearsals that kick off today! We’re still looking for a few more models so please volunteer to join the fun by registering here – https://actforealing.org/ealingsewnup/.

Tickets are now also available via the Gunnersbury Park Museum to the brilliant Sustainable Fashion Show & Clothes Swap, tickets are limited.

To top it all off, Ealing’s Mary Horesh, founder of Ealing Repair Café (another #EalingSewnUp partner) has been nominated for the BBC Make a Difference Awards (https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/3M4QTQxVtH3z7nbyZjDDS4p/make-a-difference-awards). It’s all happening in Ealing!

There has never been a better moment to think about how to make your wardrobe more creative and sustainable whilst saving money!
