Mapping is another essential activity undertaken by the Ealing Food Partnership. We identify and visualise the various food resources and assets available in the area through mapping. The mapping helps us identify gaps in the food system and opportunities for collaboration and resource sharing. You can view the Ealing Food Partnership map here.

Join us in creating a more equitable and resilient food system in Ealing. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our residents and promote sustainable food practices. If you want to join the Ealing Food Partnership, please email pascoeapawa@ealing.gov.uk.

‘Feeding Ealing’ is a ‘not for profit’ business (Community Interest Company) who’s mission is to:

Maximize local food production in order to alleviate food poverty, improve food security and increase resilience within the London Borough of Ealing

Feeding Ealing was set up in response to recent spikes in food price inflation and the increasing dependence of people on Food Banks and food distributions charities and similar organisations. The initiative is intended to act as a buffer to present and future economic shocks which disproportionately effect people according to their socioeconomic status. Most organisations that help to feed people within the London Borough of Ealing are heavily reliant upon the industrial food supply chain. The pandemic had highlighted vulnerabilities in this supply chain so Feeding Ealing was created to act as an ‘insurance policy’ against such disruption by serving as a back up supply chain at a local level. This is accomplished by producing fresh, healthy, organic food in large commercial scale poly-tunnels. The bulk of the food produced is donated to the aforementioned organisations, i.e. Food Banks, charities etc so that they can continue supplying those in need. A small portion of the food is sold to cover running costs.

MindFood is an Ealing based charity that supports people with depression, anxiety and stress to improve their wellbeing by reconnecting with nature, gardening, mindfulness, & creativity.

They offer a non-judgemental space, a world away from the pressures of everyday life.

They run a their courses from two beautiful green sites in Ealing; Cleveley Crescent near Hanger Lane tube station, and Horsenden Hill near Perivale tube station, plus they have partnered with Acton-based organisation Artification to run a programme for young people aged between 18-24 in North Acton.

Courses are designed to be a fun balance of learning how to grow a wide range of fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers whilst becoming more mindful of ways to improve our wellbeing. Urban Trailblazer was formed to tackle growing loneliness and food poverty in Ealing, particularly focussing upon older people and those with disabilities. They will do this by sharing the garden space of their clients to grow fruits, vegetables, nuts, flowers, and mushrooms. Once harvested, this food will go to their client base and any surplus will be distributed to those in need within the community.

They also use their own allotment space to train their vulnerable client group in basic gardening skills to work or volunteer, in order to keep creating produce. In all that they do, they work to create a healthy environment, progress biodiversity and cleaner air.
