Newly planted trees need watering as they develop their root systems after being planted. Schools must provide a watering plan for holiday and term-time, including who will be responsible and when the watering will take place, noting the following recommendations:
- Amount of water
- Trees should be given c. 20 litres of water at a time (equivalent to a large watering can)

- Apr-Aug: trees must be watered every week
- Sep-Oct: trees must be watered every two weeks
- During particularly warm and dry spells it may be necessary to water more frequently

- Apr-Aug: trees must be watered every week
- During particularly warm and dry spells it may be necessary to water more frequently
Share your progress
