Need help mending your clothes? Let Ealing Repair cafe teach you how.
Ealing Repair cafe volunteers will teach you how to patch and darn, using hand sewing at their gatherings around Acton and Ealing. At some sessions there is a sewing machine for alterations and mending seams. All levels of sewing welcome, from beginners to advance, there’s always something new to share or learn. Their volunteers will be on hand to teach you on how to repair your clothes and pick up a darning and patching guide. They also have upcycling projects to inspire you, such as draught excluder made from jeans. ask for a small donation of £3 to cover costs.

February
- Sunday 11 February, Acton Repair Party, Acton Vale Community Centre, Oak Way, London W3 7JZ: For electricals and clothes repairs. Ealing Repair cafe will teach you how to fix your clothes either by hand or sewing machine from 1-3 pm. We will have all our equipment, fabric scraps and threads. Sewing machines will be available for 30 minute sessions. West London Central Fixers will look at your slow or broken electronic devices to West London Central Fixers and they will fix them FREE if its possible. Book quick to guarantee place on Eventbrite.
- Tuesday 13 February: **NEW** Mend and Natter at West Ealing Library, Community Library, Melbourne Avenue, Ealing, London W13 9BT. 1 pm-3pm
- Thursday 15 February: Mend and Natter at W3 Gallery in Acton, 6 pm- 7.30 pm, W3 Gallery at 185, High Street, Acton, London, W3 6D. ** Sewing machine available for fixing seams and suitable mends.
- Wednesday 21 February: Mend and Natter at ActOne, 2 pm- 4 pm, ActOne Café, 119 – 121 High Street, Acton, W3 6NA, We ask you to support the ActOne café by buying refreshments from the café and not bringing from outside and also a small donation, £3 for the session to cover costs of equipment and expenses.** Sewing machine available for fixing seams and suitable mends.
- Saturday 24 February, The Hammersmith Mending Circle, Livat Centre, Kings Street, Hammersmith. From 1pm – 4pm. Please bring 1 item of clothing to practice with. ** Sewing machine available for fixing seams and suitable mends.
- Tuesday 27 February: Patch, Darn and Natter, Northfields Community Library, 255A Northfield Ave, London W5 4UA. From 5.30 until 6.45 pm. We ask for a small donation of £3 to cover costs.
March
- Saturday, 2 March: Reduce and Recycle Hub, Acton Market 10am -3 pm. Our volunteers will be there to teach you how to mend and fix your clothes. At the hub there will be an opportunity to recycle and reduce by dropping off clothes, laptops, toothbrushes and pens. See Reduce and Recycle hub for more details.
