Calling sewing bees around Ealing and West London. Join the Fabric Swap and Shop on Sunday 19 October, from 3 pm – 5.30 pm for some environmentally friendly fabric swapping and shopping.
De-stash your fabric drawer of fabric that could be used be someone else and get some different fabric you will use. Come along and meet other sewing bees, enjoy a cuppa and cake whilst supporting the Days for Girls charity. Ealing Repair Cafe will also be there to inspire and teach people how to fix their clothes and textiles.
Fabric Swap & Sale Details
Date: Sunday 19 October. From 3 pm – 5.30 pm
Location: Northfields Community Centre, 71A Northcroft Rd, Ealing, London W13 9SS.
Entry: £3 per person on the day or book online at £2 per person on Eventbrite (available until Wednesday 15 October. Book here
Optional Fabric Drop: 12 October from 2 pm – 4 pm at Northfields Community Centre.
Bring along your unused fabric & pattern stash for fabric swapping. You’ll receive tokens for the fabric and patterns you donate, which you can swap for pre-loved fabrics. Proceeds raised will go to the local Ealing & West London Days for Girls groups to buy specialised fabric to sew reusable menstrual kits for the charity.
Donating Fabrics
Measure your donated fabrics with the length & width marked on masking tape. Fold into a neat bundle and tape in place. No fabric smaller than A4 and no pins please but safety pins fine.
Everyone is welcome, even if you’ve not got fabric to swap, you can still join in. Bring cash or card buy tokens, to purchase patterns and cake to pay for new fabric treasures. Get advice and learn from Ealing Repair Cafe on mending and patching your clothes.
