Share The Joy is a Community Cycling Fund organised by London Cycling Campaign and Lime bikes, with support from LOUD Mobility. The Cycling fund awards grants to projects that help encourage more people to cycle, specifically those that improve Health and Wellbeing, Accessibility & Inclusion or Skills & Connectivity.
Funding is awarded four times a year to cover core costs, project costs, or new equipment. The average grant awarded is £2,500 but exceptional cases and brilliant ideas will receive more. If you are a London-based community group you are eligible to apply; round 5 closed in October 2025, and round 6 is due to open in January 2026.
You can find out more on the share the joy fund web page here.
Grants are awarded to groups or ideas that demonstrate potential in one of three categories. Projects that support groups underrepresented in cycling, or that may have difficulty accessing cycling funding from elsewhere, are given additional priority.
1. Health & Wellbeing
For organisations or cycling projects that improve physical and mental wellbeing or tackling health inequalities.
2. Accessibility & Inclusion
For organisations or projects that provide cycling support to groups underrepresented in cycling in London.
3. Skills & Connectivity
For organisations or projects that help people develop skills and access employment opportunities, as well as provide free or discounted access to active travel to enable connectivity.
If you are not sure what to apply for, or just need some inspiration, you can check out the details of previous participants here.
