Enter the Biodiverse Garden Awards 2026

Have you got a front garden, green space, community garden or school green space that are wildlife friendly and support biodiversity? Then enter your green space into the Biodiverse Garden Awards. With prizes to be won, we are inviting new and experienced gardeners (and everyone in-between) to enter this exciting competition which is free to enter and open to all Ealing residents

This competition isn’t about having a “perfect” garden. It’s about celebrating effort, care, and community spirit.

Every green space, no matter its size or stage of development, has something special. Some of the most inspiring spaces aren’t the most polished. These spaces are the ones where you can see the love, creativity, and determination that’s gone into them. This can be a few pots by a front door, a shared communal area, a wildlife-friendly patch, or a flourishing allotment. All these green spaces contributes to making Ealing greener and more welcoming.

The taking part isn’t just about winning; it’s about being proud of what you’ve created and inspiring others to do the same.

The Biodiverse Garden Awards is now in its third year. This award is all about encouraging and celebrating residents that garden for biodiversity as well as beauty. No matter the size of the green space, from a window sill to a front garden to a community space. Every plant, water station and patch of wilderness matters.

Planting for biodiversity

Each year the Biodiverse Gardens Awards sees locals discovering the joys of adding small features that encourage nature. Such as adding water sources or planting pollinator-friendly flowers or leaving a grassy corner to go wild. More and more homes and gardens are joining this natural approach to gardening. As a community, Ealing is creating valuable corridors for nature to flourish.

Nature benefitting residents

As nature flourishes, so do people! There is a tonne of research consistently proving the value of nature to human happiness and health. There are so many benefits of being in nature. The physical exercise, the natural chemicals plants give off, the natural calm the colours and patterns of nature have on our brains and of course the sense of wellbeing making Ealing a greener and healthier place.
