Circular Economy Week 2026: get involved in Ealing

Circular Economy Week is back. It is a week of events showing how we can waste less, reuse more and keep products and materials in use for longer. Taking place across London and beyond, Circular Economy Week 2026 runs from 12 to 18 October. Around 50 events are currently listed. Events range from repair and reuse activities to workshops exploring circular approaches to technology, buildings, materials and business.

Whether you are interested in repairing your clothes, cutting waste, learning about reuse there is lots of interesting events. Also you can discover how businesses can embrace a more circular economy.

You can explore the full programme on the Circular Economy Week 2026 events page.

What is happening in Ealing?

Locally Ealing Repair Cafe is helping residents keep their clothes for longer by teaching people the skills they need to repair and extend the life of their clothes. This is putting circular economy principles into practice.

The group runs friendly mending sessions where volunteers offer advice and guidance on clothing repairs. Sessions are suitable for different sewing abilities. Sessions cover skills such as sewing, embroidery, visible mending, patching, boro and sashiko stitching.

Turn old denim into something useful

There is another opportunity to get creative during Circular Economy Week. On Thursday 15 October, from 1pm to 2pm, Ealing Repair Cafe is running an upcycling workshop at Perceval House, 14-16 Uxbridge Road, W5 2HL.

Participants will be shown how to turn old denim into a draught excluder, which they can take home or donate to a local project.

It’s a simple example of the circular economy in action: taking something that might otherwise be discarded and finding a useful new purpose for it.

More ways to repair and reuse

Ealing Repair Cafe has more activities taking place throughout October.

There are regular sessions at ReActon in Acton, where residents can learn how to make T-shirt yarn, create an upcycled denim draught excluder and get help repairing their clothes. There are also further Mend and Natter sessions, including one at Northfields Library on 20 October.

The sessions are designed to help people build practical skills so that clothes can be repaired and kept in use rather than thrown away.

Explore Circular Economy Week

There are many more events happening across London during the week. The programme includes repair cafés, workshops, business events and sessions looking at everything from keeping materials in circulation to circular technology.

Making the economy more circular doesn’t always require a big change. Repairing a favourite jumper, learning a new mending skill, reusing something you already own or choosing second-hand can all help keep valuable materials in use for longer.

So why not use Circular Economy Week 2026 as an opportunity to try something new?
