Become a park volunteer with Ealing Park Rangers

Help develop habitats for our wildlife by helping out as an Ealing park volunteer.

Our Park Rangers are always on the lookout for park volunteers at their task days. With just under 150 parks and green spaces there’s plenty to do. Ealing Park Rangers manage the borough’s nature conservation areas helping to develop, maintain or enhance habitats for wildlife. Get in touch to become a park volunteer.

Ealing Borough parks

The London Borough of Ealing has an impressive 148 Parks and green spaces that reflect the character of their area. Ealing Parks Foundation manages these spaces. The foundation is an independent charity working with local communities and groups to support and enhance the Borough’s green spaces. Ealing Borough consists of seven towns. The borough was united in the 1960s to form one of London’s most recent and diverse boroughs. These towns, which all have their own character and needs, are Ealing, Acton, Hanwell, Greenford, Northolt,  Perivale and Southall. Find out more about where the Ealing parks names came from.

Ealing Park Rangers look after Ealing’s parks and green spaces. They work with volunteers, community and corporate groups to maintain and enhance spaces for nature. When you volunteer with the Rangers, you will learn and use skills that help to manage our habitats for wildlife, meet new friends, and be active outdoors.

  • You must have reasonable level of fitness as walking, bending, digging, pulling and lifting will usually be involved. Guidance and correct techniques are shown.
  • You will receive a safety and task briefing at the start of each session.
  • Please wear clothes suitable for gardening and the weather.
  • Sturdy shoes or boots are the most appropriate footwear for your safety.
  • All tools and gloves will be provided.
  • Bring a water bottle to rehydrate

The Park Rangers task days carry out activities in the parks, according to management plans written for sites which tie in with Ealing’s Biodiversity Action Plan

Park Volunteers

Join the Rangers every Tuesday 10am – 1pm and also on some Thursdays and Saturdays. Corporate park volunteer groups can arrange bespoke volunteering tasks.
