Beginning on Saturday 25 June and running until Sunday 3 July 2022, London Climate Action Week is harnessing the power of London for global climate action. The annual event brings together the city’s world-leading array of climate professionals and communities. Now in its third year, LCAW creates space for participants to come together and find global solutions to climate change. The week-long event is for everyone, creating space for both those inside and outside the climate world to present London’s action on climate change to a global audience.
We are all increasingly aware of the urgent need for climate action. Climate change is an existential threat, requiring us all to act. Climate change also presents a systemic challenge, requiring a ‘whole of society’ response to work more closely together to unleash innovative solutions.
As recent global events like the Covid-19 pandemic are teaching us, we must deftly navigate a number of complex challenges threatening our economic and societal resilience. This is why LCAW welcomes a diversity of perspectives and experiences. We need to forge a just transition to a net-zero future by embracing diversity and tackling disadvantage and division.
LCAW embraces Londoners’ various international heritages, connections, and experiences, which create a uniquely global experience. This can be seen in LCAW’s culturally-rich events and initiatives, with impacts reaching far beyond London’s geographic boundaries.
LCAW is all about creating an ambitious and lively climate cluster to tackle climate issues throughout the week and beyond.
Lots of events are are happening this week, and details can be found here. If you are involved in an event we would love to hear from you.
