Gunnersbury Park are inviting members of the public to join them for a hedge planting weekend on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th January. For more details and to sign up click here. In 2022, Gunnersbury embarked on a huge programme of events in the park, including a family day-out with dinosaurs, award-winning music artists, and immersive cinema. Under the Community Choice initiative, the local community then chose one of three projects to support with profits from the events. With 600 votes cast, the winning project of the Community Choice 2022 was “Planting new hedgerows to bring new habitats to the park”.
Details are as follows:
Dates: Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th January: 10.00 am start time – volunteers must be there for this time in order to hear the group briefing. Volunteers should be able to bring their own gardening gloves and wear appropriate shoes
The session will end at 3.00 pm at the latest with an hours break – volunteers will need to bring their own lunch but hot drinks and biscuits will be provided.
Numbers will be limited and places will be awarded on a first come first served basis so please make sure your place is confirmed before arriving to the session!
