2023 has been a busy and eventful year for ActForEaling, as well as for positive climate action and nature restoration in Ealing. With the New Year just around the corner, we wanted to being you some stories of the activities we have been involved with over the past 12 months. Our stories page highlights these, and some of our other activities since we began in 2021:

In December 2023, ActForEaling, the University of West London, Ealing Food Partnership, and Ealing Transition hosted a film screening and discussion of “Eating Our Way to Extinction”, focussing on the impact of food production on the environment. The aim was to understand the significant effect our dietary choices can have on the world we live in. Find out more here.

In November 2023, ActForEaling collaborated with Ealing Council to take representatives from environmental groups to visit the MRF (Materials Reprocessing Facility) in Crayford, Kent. The aim was to understand better how our recycling is dealt with and why it is important for residents to follow guidelines in order to ensure that as much household waste as possible is collected. In July 2023, ActForEaling hosted the immersive film Red Rope, highlighting the need to protect our oceans from plastic pollution. The film charts a 40 minute journey though the ocean, focussing on a multitude of brightly coloured fish, octopus, dolphins and other sea creatures under threat from plastic bottles and other waste, and finally suggesting how we can work together to change. We will be back in 2024 with more events, as well as bringing you regular updates showcasing the work of volunteer groups in Ealing, striving to address the climate and ecological emergencies through local community action.
