Want your children to reconnect with nature? Join the rangers at Perivale Wood for monthly activities.
Perivale Wood Nature Reserve host Rangers and Rangers Plus programmes for children and young people.
Held monthly, Selbourne Society run an extensive programme of natural history events for young people (up to 16) on the reserve. The sessions are led by trained volunteers and aim to teach young people practical conservation skills.
There is a group for those aged 3-9 (Rangers) and a group for those aged 10+ (Rangers Plus). Please note that all children who come along must be accompanied by a parent or adult carer.
What can I expect from the session?
Each session has a different theme where the group explores some aspect of the natural world or heritage of the Perivale Wood Nature Reserve. Children will learn about the different wildlife found in the reserve and how to help look after different habitats.
The team also run a yearly ‘sleepout’ at the reserve, where families camp overnight, enjoying a campfire and bat walk.
How can I book a place?
Anyone interested in joining the Rangers and Rangers Plus programmes will need to become a member of the Selborne Society first. For further information about joining the Society, visit their website or contact the team directly.
