W3: Welcome All to Walk & Wheel centre in Acton’s Friary Park

A walking and cycling centre opened at Friary Park in Acton and the centre is open every Friday from 10:30 to 5 pm, delivering free activities for the community. Walking, wheeling or cycling is an everyday way to improve your health, connect with your community and help bring your neighbourhood to life. You breathe in fresh air, you feel a sense of freedom, and you forge stronger connections with your neighbours. So come along to the Walk and Wheel hub on a Friday to find out more.

Free cycle loan

The Walk and Wheel centre has bicycles are available to borrow for the activitites and there is no need to book. We have a selection of bikes you can borrow children bicycles and folding bicycles, suitable for wide range of sizes. They will be fully adjusted for you to ride on.

Free Activities

There are free activities for up to 6 participants per activity and no booking required. The current programme is:

  • 10:30-11:30 am: Drop-in advice (advice, signposting, planning walking, and cycling routes)
  • 2:30-3.30 pm: Adults learn to ride
  • 4-5 pm: Children Learn to ride

Dr Bike First Friday of the Month, 2-5 pm

On the first Friday of the month Dr Bike is at the hub from 2-5pm. Dr Bike is a free service where a mechanic carries out minor repairs and regular maintenance on bicycles and cargo cycles. They also give advice on how to look after your cycle to keep you riding all year round.
