Achieved so far
The last two pop-ups last four pop-ups saved an incredible 3,821 items from landfill while 2,855 pieces were swapped. Ealing Broadway has been partnering with the charity Love Not Landfill since 2018 – and residents have donated over 20 tonnes of clothing to their local clothes banks in that time.
Valuing and wearing our clothes is so important. Textiles account for nearly a QUARTER of global mixed waste and research shows the fashion industry is the SECOND largest polluter after aviation. So the longer we wear and repair our clothes the better.
