Action West London are looking for Climate Action Volunteers in Acton to help with their Reduce and Recycle hub at Acton Market. They are keen to recruit volunteers interested in making a difference in reducing waste and helping the environment.
The hub usually runs on the first Saturday of the month from 10 am to 3 pm alongside Acton Saturday MarketW3. They invite partners along to encourage you to think about what you consume, and start using and wearing items for as longer, reduce how much you waste, reuse items more and when you no longer need them, recycle them responsibly at the hub or elsewhere..
Reduce and Recycle Volunteer in Acton Role
Climate Action Volunteers will help deliver the monthly Reduce and Recycle hub event, Acton. Acton Market is run by Action West London, a local charity involved in Employment, Education and Enterprise. These volunteer roles involves working on-site both at our market and at local community events. As a Climate Action Volunteer, your event day tasks may include assisting manning stalls. Tasks they need help with are:
- Community book swap
- Clothes and small electrical appliances recycling collection point
- Promote future events by delivering leaflets and distributing posters
- Promoting sustainable and recycling practices
- Supporting educational and community engagement activity on climate change.
EXPERIENCE
- A passion for climate action and environmental sustainability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with diverse individuals
- Organisational and time management skills
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
- Previous experience in climate action or environmental initiatives is a plus, but not required.
- A passion for reducing waste, recycling and reusing is essential.

HOURS
Volunteers would help for 4 – 6 hours on the first and/or second Saturday of each month from 10am to 3pm.
