ActOne Cinema hosts the next must-see screening of the film Until the end of the world on Saturday April 20 at 2 pm and get your tickets in advance. Other screenings have been sell out. The films are accompanied by a live Q&A with director Francesco De Augustinis and a panel of environmentalists.
The film Until the End of the World is a journey across three continents following a journalistic investigation into the fish-farming industry. It holds a magnifying glass up to aquaculture which promises to be a sustainable solution to feed a growing global population. However, in reality results in conflict over natural resources and pollution, even fostering hunger and food insecurity.
The film will be followed by the short documentary POROS STANDS. This documentary takes us to the small Greek island of Poros. You will hear from its plucky inhabitants who stood up to the government’s decision to expand the already substantial fish farms in their country’s waters.
Tickets are on a Pay What You Can sliding scale (tiers of £3, £6, £9, £12 and £15). Higher ticket prices and donations allow us to hold more community events like these, with affordable prices. Thank you for your support.
In ActOne’s café area, meet local Ealing activists to find out what you can do to help the planet. Groups such as Ealing Friends of the Earth, Parents For Future and ActForEaling will be there.

ActOne is located in a historic old library in the middle of Acton High Street. The two 60-seat screening rooms are fully equipped with the latest digital technology. The cinema also has a beautiful lounge area and a sustainably-run café. We love the choice of cakes including the delicious vegan lemon drizzle slice.
This not-for-profit community cinema commits to showing a variety of films. These showings include climate change and the environment amongst its wide-ranging programme of popular and independent films. The cinema relies on donations and volunteers to run it.
