First biodiversity photo competition prize winner announced

Share a photo of biodiversity anywhere in the Ealing borough to win prizes in the Biodiversity photo competition

Every corner matters

A W13 resident has perfectly captured how even the smallest of spaces can thrive with life with this wonderful snap of biodiversity on their doorstep. Hopefully this local will also enter their doorstep garden into the Biodiverse Front Gardens and Balconies Competition (deadline 14 July).

This wonderful photo sums up exactly what the Biodiverse Front Gardens and Balconies Competition is all about. Every corner matters to the competition organisers, ActForEaling, Cultivating Ealing and Ealing Council. It is all about celebrating even the tiniest of life supporting spaces across the borough’s seven towns of: Acton, Ealing, Greenford, Hanwell, Northolt, Perivale and Southall.

More prizes to be won

Why promote biodiversity

More and more people are becoming aware of the essential role of biodiversity in giving us clean air, food, clean water, shade and good health (both mental and physical). The Biodiverse Front Gardens and Balconies Competition wants to locals to experiment with upcycled yoghurt-pot micro-gardens through to shared street planting. The sponsors behind the prizes share this passion for everyone contributing to a more biodiverse world.

Crescent Garden passionately believes in bringing more nature to urban spaces. Its planters are not only climate-positive but also make urban gardening easy with the self-watering features of all Crescent Garden products. The winners of these planters will be able to create mini-gardens where before there was a bare patio or balcony. Every corner matters.

This is also the theme of Isabella Tree’s new film “Wilding”, the winners of the Picturehouse tickets and Wilding books cannot fail to be inspired to join this growing nature movement to transform the UK into a greener and healthier place.

To win one of these fabulous prizes please send a photo of Ealing’s biodiversity to contact@actforealing.org . Please note that by entering a photo in this prize promotion you:
