On Saturday, 22 June 2024, a group of people drawn from local community groups calling for Nature Restoration in Ealing, including Ealing Wildlife Group, The Selbourne Society/Perivale Wood, Ealing Transition, Ealing Friends of the Earth and others joined the 100,000 fellow campaigners on the March for Nature in Central London to demand action to restore nature.
Over 300 organisations from across the country met and marched in support of stronger action to prevent pollution, protect and grow our natural habitats, clean our rivers and the sea to enable us to restore the natural systems on which we depend and to which we belong. You can check out the feedback from the march organisers here, while a time lapse of the event is available on Instagram here.
TV presenter Chris Packham introduced speakers from organisations large and small who are already committed and acting for nature. Amazingly, we were also given a stunning aerobatic fly-past by a family of peregrine falcons which have been nesting on Parliament, a sure sign we had their blessing.
If you would like to be involved in Nature Restoration in Ealing, why not volunteer yourself?
