This weekend, Perivale Golf Course will reopen as Pear Tree Park on Saturday 27 July at 10am. This wonderful new space is part of the council’s commitment to creating 10 new parks in the borough. Pupils from Brentside Primary School provided the inspiration for the park’s name. The new park will follow a phased development with plans to develop it into part of a regional park. The benefits of new park
This new park will offer residents greater access to nature and green space. The new plants and trees will reduce pollution and absorb carbon to help combat climate change. The park will boost drainage and prevent flooding, provide more shade in hot weather and improve air quality. It will also create new opportunities for the borough’s smallest inhabitants through rewilding projects and habitat creation.
Green spaces are vital to local communities, particularly for mental and physical wellbeing. Pear Tree Park will provide more space for locals to get active, connect with nature, enjoy wildlife or breathe fresh air. This brand new outdoor space will be an asset both to current residents and generations to come.
Councillor Polly Knewstub, cabinet member for Thriving Communities, said: “A new regional park in the borough provides a very real opportunity for us to improve the lives of Ealing residents, unlocking access to green space to meet friends, play sports and experience world class music and performance and arts.”
Join the grand opening
The grand opening will take place with a free family-friendly community event on Saturday 27 July at 10am-midday at Pear Tree Park, Stockdove Way, Perivale, Greenford UB6 8TJ. The opening will be a morning of community celebration including:
- a nature trail hunt
- exciting outdoor activities
- sports for children and adults
- crafting workshops
- music workshops
- face painting and more!
