Thursday Lates at Pitzhanger Manor: Join for art, workshops and more!

Pitzhanger Manor invite you for a unique after-hours experience at their beautiful venue. Taking place on Thursday 1 August from 5 pm- 8 pm at Pitzhanger Manor and gallery. This is a chance for Ealing community to come together. Visit Grayson Perry’s acclaimed exhibition, The Vanity of Small Differences. Plus a talk from artist Matt Small and clothes mending workshop from Ealing Repair Cafe. Everyone is welcome to be a part of this inclusive event.

Drawing on the woven tapestries in the exhibition, Pitzhanger Manor teamed up with the Ealing Repair Café, and come with your mending pile of clothes for advice and guidance. Ealing Repair Café volunteers will be on hand to teach you how to repair your clothes and will bring along their sewing machine so you can try out alterations and mending seams.

The Ealing Repair Café established to teach people how to repair their clothes using patching or darning techniques rather than discarding them. This initiative is a step towards creating a circular economy for clothes and moving away from fast-disposable fashion. The Repair Café is a proud part of the Ealing Transition Initiative, inspiring us all to make a positive impact on sustainability.

All activities are free with general admission. However, to participate in the Repair Café event, the organisers ask for a donation of £5 per participant to cover equipment costs and expenses.

Ealing Repair cafe also run regular monthly meet ups around Ealing, offering help, chat and advice on your clothes mending pile. Artist Matt Small on This is England

Artist Matt Small talks about his exhibition This Is England, created to depict the full England squad and manager of the EURO 2020 England football team. The team was a group of players from a diverse set of backgrounds who made history. They did this by their sporting achievement and their ability to engage and inspire the nation. Commissioned by the Football Association, all portraits were exhibited at the St George’s Park training ground during the EURO 2020 finals in 2021. Later the portraits were exhibited at Pitzhanger.

Our café partner, Bella Puglia, will serve a range of delicious alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks all evening. The cafe will be open until 8pm.

Thursday Lates at Pitzhanger Manor

Thursday Lates is our monthly evening event series every first Thursday. They offer a diverse range of programs from artist talks to workshops. Open to everyone seeking enriching after-work experiences, these events vary from ticketed to free. Coinciding with our free visiting hours for Ealing residents, Thursday Lates is your chance to explore the manor and its exhibitions without the usual general admission fee.
