Dress for the world you want with Secondhand September

Want great fashion that doesn’t cost the earth? Dress for the world you want by joining Secondhand September by shopping only second hand for the 30 days of September.

Buying just one pair of jeans and a t-shirt second-hand instead of new could help save the equivalent of 20,000 standard bottles of water, new Oxfam analysis revealed.

The findings come as Oxfam launches its sixth Second Hand September campaign. Secondhand September encourages us to shop preloved and donate their unwanted clothes. In doing so, will help reduce the demand for new clothes and fast fashion.

The garment industry has an enormous water footprint that is straining the planet’s limited water resources. The total water footprint of clothing used in the UK annually is eight billion cubic metres. This is enough to meet the water consumption of the entire UK population for two years. Globally, 93 billion cubic metres of water are used by the fashion industry annually – enough to fill 37 million Olympic-sized swimming pools. So lets dress for the World you want this September by joining in with Second Hand September

Join a growing movement of people choosing a kinder way to shop for people and planet and sign up to Oxfam’s Second September.
