Tesco Community Grants is looking for local good causes whose focus is on supporting Children and Families across the UK. The focus of Tesco Stronger Starts grants are hoping schools or projects who lack funds , to apply for extra financial help. These funds could go towards suitable projects such as providing healthy food that otherwise would go to waste or activities that boost young people’s mental and physical wellbeing, such as getting them to reconnect with nature. Tesco Community Grants aims is to make a positive difference. Groundwork manages the Tesco Stronger Starts grants.
How does Tesco Stronger Starts grants work?
Tesco Stronger Starts is open to charities and community organisations to apply for a grant of up to £1,500. So they are selecting every three months, 3 local good causes. Then these 3 good causes are put to a blue token customer vote in Tesco stores.
For example, St Mark’s Irvine Primary School received £500 to help it run a daily breakfast club. This aims to reduce the stress of the morning routine for families and children. Instead they offer them a healthy breakfast before school starts.
