Something for everyone
This is an inclusive clothes swap, whether you are an experienced swapper or completely new to this experience, everyone is welcome. If you can’t make it, follow these ActForEaling tips on how to organise your own. St Mellitus also hosts regular Meet & Make events, so you can get creative with items you pick up at the clothes swap.
Why clothes swaps matter
What’s not to love about a clothes swap? These events are always buzzing with community energy, allowing people to connect and discover fashion treasure in good company. The experience could not be more different to silently clicking on an online fast fashion site alone at home.
Whilst giving you the space to try new looks, the process of swapping clothes keeps clothes out of landfill. Swapping rather than shopping also reduces the demand for fast fashion which is responsible for a huge amount of pollution and carbon.
Supporting clothes swaps
ActForEaling is really keen to support any clothes swaps across the borough’s seven towns: Acton, Ealing, Greenford, Hanwell, Northolt, Perivale and Southall. Please get in touch so ActForEaling can promote local sustainable fashion events and activities near you. Imagine if clothes swaps were happening so regularly that swapping became Ealing’s first choice for a wardrobe refresh!
So if you can’t attend this clothes swap, why not organise your own?
