Textiles and Clothes waste

A WRAP 2024 fashion research shows people are putting almost half (49%) of all used clothes and textiles in the rubbish bin. On average, each person in the UK throws a shocking 35 items of unwanted textiles straight into general waste every year. The UK bought 1.42 million tonnes of textiles in 2022. In the same year, we generated almost exactly the same amount of clothes we got rid of- 1.45 million tonnes of used textiles. So please consider passing on the clothes to this brilliant project or other charities or your family and friends.

Waste is a big problem and causes local and internal problems around the world, as our ActForEaling Cut the Crap campaign illustrates.
