Library of Things across London
There are 20 other Library of Things across London, and more than 45 items are available for hire. In West London other locations include Hammersmith, North Kensington and Twickenham.
By renting items instead of buying them you can save money, prevent unwanted items from going the tip when not needed, and save on embedded carbon – that’s the carbon dioxide produced when making new products that we buy for example.
How does the Library of Things Ealing work?
Borrowing is simple. It works in a similar way to a book library, and within a few clicks you could be on your way home with one of 30+ items available to hire.
- Join and reserve: Browse the Ealing Library of Things items. Set up an account. Make a reservation for the item and set up payment to borrow.
- Borrow and return it: Collect your Thing from the lockers in Ealing Broadway by logging into the terminal at the lockers. Use it. Then return it to the lockers when you’re done and check it back in using the locker.
- Track your impact: See how much waste you’ve saved from landfill by borrowing instead of buying.
