Discover West London Cycling Mela at Osterley Park

For bike week, Osterley Park is hosting the West London Cycling Mela on Saturday 13 June 2026 from 12 noon to 5 pm. This is a festival of all things cycling including a bicycle ballet, cargo bike try outs, a bike juke box, and bike tune ups. Cyclists are converging from all over west London for this West London Cycling Mela. Cycle over to Osterley park or join one of the organised rides to join the fun of the mela.

Ealing Cycling campaign has a family ride to Osterley park. They are meeting at the western end of Acton Green Common from 11.15am for a 11.30am departure. This is a short ride (under 6 miles each way, 12 miles in total) suitable for families including children of 7 years and above who can cycle independently & confidently, and also for parents carrying smaller children in bike seats / trailers. West London Cycling Mela

This free, family‑friendly event celebrates cycling across West London and includes a programme of led rides, activities, performances and hands‑on experiences. Residents can join guided rides from Hounslow, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Richmond or simply arrive and take part on the day.

The event is delivered with partners including the National Trust and West London councils of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Richmond & Wandsworth.

West London Cycling Mela

On the day there will be:

  • Bicycle Ballet Company
  • Bike maintenance sessions from Dr Bikes
  • Police Bike Marking
  • Free Bike Raffle: Prizes include free Forest and Voi minutes and a free bicycle
  • Smoothie Bike
  • Scalectrix
  • Hounslow Repair café
  • Try out a cargo bike.

What to bring

For the West London Cycle Mella bring:

  • Your bicycle along if you are anticipating joining for the Bike maintenance sessions or would like your bike marked by the police.
  • Weather appropriate clothing for the day.

Osterley Park

Osterley Park is a National Trust managed park and garden (no entry fee required for the park itself) and is a great cycling location for families as it has its own laid out car-free circuit and fun skills track. There are also gardens to explore on foot, kayaking on the pond (pre-booking advised), and the house itself to explore (free for NT members).

Facilities onsite:

  • Bike parking will be available at Osterley Park.
  • Public toilets at Osterley Park are available to use for the day.
  • National Trust café will be open as usual.
