To mark the launch of ActForEaling, we are thrilled to be announcing the opening of our first photography competition. We’re looking for pictures with a local interest- showing the beauty of this ‘Queen of the Suburbs’ and we hope to see lots of inspirational entries showing positive climate action and restoration of nature in the borough.
In partnership with ActForEaling, Northfields Camera Club is delighted to be running the competition and the distinguished panel of judges, including comedian and presenter Mel Giedroyc, will be selecting the winners.
“I am thrilled to find out about all the different ways local residents are responding to climate action in the borough. I look forward to discovering all sorts of green gems I never knew existed in Ealing.” said Mel Giedroyc
The best photos will be showcased in local exhibitions around Ealing, in an online gallery and on the ActForEaling website.
The three categories for the photos are:
- Green Shoots – young people acting for a greener future
- Sustainable Generations – passing sustainability tips between generations
- Climate in the Community – people powered community climate action
This competition is open to all ages as we are also encouraging Ealing’s young photographers to get involved by submitting their entries for the youth class (under 16) of these categories.
Take a look at the various events taking place in Ealing during the Great Big Green Week that provide numerous opportunities to photograph climate positive people!
Enter online by 11.59pm on Wednesday 27th October:
To enter, you must be the author of the picture, that is, it must be your own picture that you have taken. You must either live, work, or study in the London Borough of Ealing. You can enter one picture that you’ve taken on a camera or mobile phone in each of the categories.
To enter the youth categories, you must be aged 16 or below.
As the pictures are to be on public display, please ensure the people you are photographing have consented to the proposed use of the image and if there are children in the photo ensure you have parental consent.
Each picture should have a title and a short description. The judges will be looking out for pictures that show connection and local engagement in the Ealing community, restoring nature and collaborating for a climate positive future.
