Ealing School crowdfunding for Second Uniform shop

Fielding Primary School has launched a crowdfunding page to build a Second-hand Uniform Shed and Bike Repair Shop through Aviva Community Fund.

Unbelievably, over 14,000 school uniforms will have been purchased during the last five years in just this primary school alone. Plus up to 2,150 bikes will likely be used to get many children to/from school and other places in their local area. That’s potentially a lot of landfill when items like this grow to be too small or become broken – and this will project change that.

With this crowdfunding project, the aim is to build dedicated and co-located Second Hand Uniform and Bike Repair shops that:

  • Recycle outgrown uniforms and provide them at a fraction of the cost of traditional suppliers ensuring low income families can take advantage of the scheme
  • Promotes active and environmentally friendly travel to/from school and a healthier lifestyle for pupils and families alike
  • Promote active travel to/from schools and a healthier lifestyle for pupils and families alike
  • Ensure bicycles don’t end up in a state of disrepair and educate bike users on regular maintenance techniques

If you’d like to help Fielding School recycle 14,000 uniforms and help maintain up to 2,000 bikes over the next few years then feel free to pledge your support. With about 10 days to go, please pledge what you can on their page:
