Sustainable fabrics at Sew me sunshine

Sustainable local online fabric shop based in Chiswick

Sew Me Sunshine is a local online seller of dressmaking fabrics with a large range of sustainable eco fabrics & deadstock (ex designer) garment fabrics, dressmaking patterns and high quality sewing supplies. Their one stop shop will help you make a handmade wardrobe that will make you smile.

Harriet, Sew Me Sunshine Founder, set up the business in her spare room in 2017 and built it up from there. She discovered by sewing her own clothes she was able to create her own ethical and sustainable fashion. Harriet says:

“One of the best bits about sewing my own wardrobe is carefully selecting the fabrics that I am going to use. I found myself spending hours researching the fabric industry.”

From there “I was keen to be able to put my passion for fabric to good use, so I decided to start sourcing fabrics to sell to other dressmakers. This led to Sew Me Sunshine launching in August 2017.”

Now, Sew Me Sunshine has its own unit in Chiswick, West London with a large range of well known sustainable fabric brands, along with lots of ex-designer & deadstock fabrics.

Sew Me Sunshine has a comprehensive Sustainability Policy. When sourcing fabrics we are looking to stock more natural fibres such as linen, and fabrics that are deemed more eco-friendly such as those containing TENCEL™ fibres and viscose containing LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibres. They also include some home sewing sustainable tips.
