London Climate Action Week 2023: What is it & how can I take part?

London Climate Action Week is back again for 2023! Keep reading to find out what it is, why it matters and how to get involved locally.

What is London Climate Action Week?

Taking place between 24th June-2nd July 2023, London Climate Action Week (LCAW) is an annual event that looks to harness the power of London for global climate action.

Now in its fifth year, LCAW creates space for individuals both inside and outside the climate world to come together and find solutions to climate change, with events taking place across the capital.

The key focus of London Climate Action Week this year is ‘together accelerating fair and inclusive climate transition’. The week aims to shed light on the following four themes:

  • Accelerating the global clean economy
  • Delivering fair, inclusive and just climate transitions
  • Expanding networks for Whole of Society Action in London and beyond with an emphasis on community-level action, across professional and cultural sectors.
  • Creating a greener London with and for Londoners

Why does climate action matter?

We are all increasingly aware of the urgent need for climate action. Climate change is an existential threat, requiring us all to act. Climate change also presents a systemic challenge, requiring a ‘whole of society’ response to work more closely together to unleash innovative solutions.

That’s why we created ActForEaling, to serve as a central hub for anyone interested in community climate action to be inspired to take action locally and help us achieve a climate positive future for Ealing.

How can I get involved?

Panel discussion: How does climate change affect me in Ealing?

Join Ealing Council’s Climate Action Team on Wednesday 28th July from 6-7:30pm for a panel discussion to learn more about recent climate action developments in the borough.

You’ll hear directly from specialists and people working across Ealing who are innovating and providing climate action solutions to residents including Ealing doctors, local green champions, academics and Ealing Council officers.
