Ealing council are hosting a Community Service Design centre in Northolt to support their commitment to co-designing Ealing’s services with those who need them most.
Trained community service designers will work with residents to help identify and tackle the problems that affect their neighbourhoods. The project aims to transform Ealing residents and staff into service designers. These service designers will be equipped to take hold of a common problem faced by the council and community and work together through a process to solve that problem.
“We want all our residents, regardless of their background, to feel that they have a voice in how our services work, and we encourage every resident in Northolt and the borough as a whole to come and play their part in building a better Ealing for everyone” says Ealing Council.
The programme is being run for residents of the Northolt area of the Ealing borough who have postcodes starting with UB5 and UB6. Council staff will be attending the first phase of the training, followed by residents who have already volunteered to join the Community Design Programme.
This programme is delivered by leading practitioners in Design Thinking and collaborative innovation. They are a mix of educators and service designers.
