Local Volunteering Opportunity

The Friends of Horsenden Hill welcome you to join their friendly group of volunteers for their next volunteering day at Horsenden Farm on Saturday 1st July.

What will I do?

You can expect to get stuck into a range of conservation, gardening, veg growing and site maintenance tasks.

No prior experience is needed, and you’ll be given all the instructions you need on the day.

Tasks will include:

  • weeding and planting the flower beds, sensory garden and tree nursery
  • orchard care
  • tree and hedge planting
  • woodland management
  • hedge laying
  • bramble bashing
  • tidying up the driveways
  • wood chipping the paths
  • clearing up rubbish on site
  • painting
  • light maintenance
  • and whatever else is needed on the day!

The to-do list of jobs is long indeed, and all help is very welcome!

How can I join?

Meet in the courtyard at Horsenden Farm, Horsenden Lane North, Greenford, UB6 7PQ. Find out how to get there here.

The session will be from 10am – 2pm but if you plan to arrive later, just ask any of the volunteers on site for Elsa or Justin.

Is there anything else I need to know?

All tools and kit are provided, but please bring your own gardening gloves if you have them.

Volunteering Saturdays coincide with tap days, so after the session you can always treat yourself to a clay-oven baked pizza from the Horsenden Loaf bakery or draft beer from Perivale brewery.

You’re welcome to just turn up for the session, but if you’ve got any questions about the monthly Saturday (or the Monday/Wednesday) volunteering sessions, contact the team directly here.
