December Acton Reduce and Recycle hub

Acton Reduce and Recycle hub returns on Saturday 2nd December to Acton Market for a festive edition of the popular event. The hub will be at Acton market from 10 am until 3 pm with lots of great organisations and businesses there to help people in Acton to reduce, reuse and recycle.

The Acton Reduce and Recycle hub is a monthly event at Acton Saturday Market to help local residents Reduce and Recycle on the first Saturday of the month funded by the lottery Climate Action Fund. The hub wants to encourage residents to think about what they consume, by using and wearing items for as longer, reducing how much they waste, reusing items more and when they no longer need them, recycle them.

Festive Reduce and Recycle Activities

Come and join our friends from Ealing Repair Cafe and let them help you with Free Workshops, anytime between 10 am and 3 pm. Ealing Repair Cafe will be providing the workshops for anyone who wants to pop along to the hub on:

  1. Make a free upcycled draft excluder from an old pair of jeans. Draft Excluders are great for keeping the warm in and heating bills low. The team will be helping anyone who wants to come along and make one.
  2. Design your own Christmas Jumper by turning an old jumper into a Christmas piece with a winter feel. Bring one of your own jumpers or they have a donation of clean second hand jumpers to decorate in a festive way.
  3. Use fabric to wrap your Christmas presents, which can be reused again and again, avoiding wrapping paper so reducing your waste.

All these wonderful festive activities at the market are free, so pop along.

Plus at the monthly Reduce and Recycle hub at MarketW3 you can:

RECYCLE:

Bring along your old and unloved:

  • Clothing & Shoes
  • Small electrical appliances
  • Pens and writing instruments
