Join Ealing Wildlife Group on 25 November and be a citizen scientist for the afternoon to find out if the reintroduced harvest mice are holding their own! You will be taught how to look for the mice’s distinctive nests in suitable habitats, as this is one of the only reliable ways we can monitor their progress over time. You can read more about Ealing Wildlife Group’s Harvest Mice project here.
This event is suitable for all the family, and children are welcome. The activity does involve methodical, patient surveying and walking through sensitive meadow habitats as a team, without damaging the site. Hence it might be more suitable for children of 8 and over, but we will rely on parental discretion.
Meet at the underpass access to Paradise Fields next to the car park adjacent to the McDonald’s in Westway Cross Retail Park. We will then walk through to the meadow for our survey. Please wear weather-suitable clothing and comfortable footwear suitable for rough and muddy terrain.
NB – All under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Time: 25 November 2023, 1pm to 4pm
Where: Paradise Fields, Greenford UB6 0AD
