What is London National Park City?

London became the world’s first National Park City in July 2019. It was launched by the National Park City Foundation with the support of the Mayor of London and 260 partner organisations.

We have champions of our grassroots work, a community of 150 volunteer Rangers who lead practical projects in neighbourhoods across London. Their projects are as varied as their expertise. The rangers drive is their personal and professional passion for the natural world and also by their role as stewards for London National Park movement.

With plans to extend the reach of our Rangers community to more neighbourhoods working with a handful of London Boroughs at a time, and supporting Local Nature Recovery in every community.

London is just at the beginning of its National Park City journey. Together we all can make our city greener, healthier and wilder.
