This winter why buy a new Christmas jumper, when you can swap for a different Christmas jumper, top or t-shirt at the Acton Market Reduce and Recycle hub on 7 December for the Jolly Christmas Jumper swap from 10 am to 3pm. At their swaps, you can either give donations, take donations or both.
Did you know, in 2019, almost 12 million Christmas jumpers were purchased brand new with 2 in 5 of these are only worn once over the festive season?
So lets turn this waste into an opportunity! The Reduce and Recycle hub want your donations of your too small or unloved Christmas jumpers, tops and t-shirts. Drop them off at one of the points around Acton and Ealing listed below.
Why buy new when you can swap?
Each year, millions of us search for the perfect Christmas jumper to celebrate with friends, colleagues and family. However, with two out of five Christmas jumpers only being worn once over the festive period, this is a prime example of fast fashion as it takes a lot of resources to create clothes that are rarely worn. Christmas top Donations needed
We all have tops and jumpers that are too small or are left at the back of wardrobes and drawers unloved, so please pass them on. Drop off those Christmas and winter themed tops that are clean and in good condition at one of the points listed below up until Friday 6 December. Those tops will become part of the Jolly Christmas swap at ActOne Cinema and Cafe on 30 November and in Acton Market Reduce and Recycle hub on Saturday 7 December.
The Reduce and Recycle hub will be accepting the following items, so please ensure the items are clean and in good condition.
- Christmas Adult and children’s:
- Jumpers
- Tops and t-shirts
- Pet Christmas jumpers
Plus, we will also be accepted:
- Primary and Secondary unbranded school uniform items
- School sportswear
- School footwear
- Schoolbags

You don’t even have to swap a jumper to get a fresh jumper this Christmas, look at Ealing Repair cafes ideas of designing your own Christmas jumper.
Plus lots of Charity shops have a great selections of Christmas jumpers and tops too, so pop along to one of the local Charity shops and support these great charities by getting a preloved jumpers. Pop into your favourite charity shops and discover some pre-loved gems.
