LAGER Can 2025 Annual Report: Community Efforts for a Greener Ealing

LAGER Can 2025 annual Report highlights their amazing waste busting achievements, growth, and progress of LAGER Can group. It reflects their commitment to excellence and transparency in making the London Borough of Ealing’s open spaces cleaner and greener. It’s also available to download and read as a pdf.

Achievements for 2025

The LAGER Can 2025 Annual Report summarises their achievements for 2025 is:

  • Members donated 16,116 volunteer hours, equivalent to 8.8 people, each working 38 weeks over the year
  • 754 fly-tips in the period between June and December
  • Several hundred active members who regularly litter-pick and log their work
  • LAGER Can collected the equivalent of 29,325 bags of waste!
    • 20,468 bags of litter
    • 1,408 bags of recyclables
    • 929 bags of leaves 

This work was done by individuals and small teams, including members of 13 local area groups, and at 271 main group events. If paid for, the work undertaken by LAGER Can volunteers and administrators in 2025 would have cost Ealing Council £300,000.

Ealing Council calculated that supporting LAGER Can with rubbish bags, equipment and hi-vis vests cost £31,000 over the five-year period from June 2020 to August 2025. Over the same five-year period, LAGER Can calculated that our donated labour was worth £1.6 million. It is undeniable that our members do an amazing job and are unbeatable value for money.

LAGER Can – the Litter Action Group for Ealing Residents – was founded in 2017 by Keith Freegard, then a resident of Hanwell. Membership has climbed to 2,500 and continues to grow.
