ActOne’s next FOOTPRINTS, environmental event is Gentle, Angry Women, showing on Sunday 1st of March 2026 at 14.30pm. The film focusses on the legacy of Greenham Common Women’s Peace protest forty years on, specifically the peace protest’s Embrace the Base campaign and other activities protesting the stationing of nuclear weapons at the Greenham Common Air Force base. The film reflects the urgency of modern day campaigns against climate change and the destruction of the natural environment.
ActOne cinema in Acton is a not-for-profit community cinema. It has regular screenings of independent and commercial film releases. Three young activists trace the legacy of Greenham Common Women’s Peace protest forty years on and discover the alarming reality of British nuclear armament. Retracing the original 110-mile march, they embark on an intimate intergenerational exchange. It reveals a journey of self-discovery and a timely narrative of feminist activism that speaks to the need for hope, action and change. The film will be followed by a Q&A with the director, Barbara Santi.

ActOne Cinema and Cafe
ActOne Cinema is located in the old library in the middle of Acton High Street. It is a not-for-profit community cinema and caretakers of the historic building of Passmore Edwards Public Library.
ActOne cinema has two 60-seat screening rooms which are fully equipped with the latest digital technology. The cinema also has a beautiful lounge area and a sustainably-run cafe.
