As part of London Climate Action week, ActForEaling and University of West London (UWL), as well as other partners, will be holding a screening of the film, the People’s Emergency Briefing. Join us during London Climate Action week, on Wednesday 24th June 2026, for a viewing and a discussion about how individuals and community organisations can respond.
What is the film about?
In November 2025, ten of the UK’s leading experts invited Members of Parliament, politicians, and leaders from business, culture, faith, sport and the media, to listen to a series of presentations on the implications of climate and nature breakdown on our national security. The film captures those briefings, and presents the findings in a clear and accessible account designed for screenings in communities across the UK.
The briefing set out the implications of climate and nature breakdown for health, food systems, national security and the economy, and it did so on the public record. Its purpose is to demonstrate what a clear, evidence-led national emergency briefing could look like and why it is needed.
The film sets out the risks facing the nation – and the credible, positive responses available – it is hoped that sharing the findings in this way will help build an irresistible call for the Government to stage a televised emergency briefing, the essential first step towards the WW2-scale response now required.
Why attend?
The film is a fantastic way to consider the challenges that Britain faces due to the climate and ecological emergencies, and the solutions that exist for us to overcome them. The screening is also an opportunity also to meet others concerned about the effects of climate change and forge new connections and friendships.
