London Rivers Week runs from Saturday 23rd to Sunday 31st May 2026. There are great local events going on in around Ealing to celebrate London Rivers Week organised by CURB – Clean Up the River Brent.
London Rivers Week 2026 is organised by Thames 21. Its a week to celebrate all of London’s rivers and the many projects taking place to protect them. Thames 21 works with local communities to improve the capital’s 400 mile network of rivers.

CURB – Clean up river Brent will be running a programme on the Brent, and invites all to sign-up to these interesting and inspiring events on and around our local rivers.

Sunday 24th May 1100-1400, Long Wood Local Nature Reserve
An Introduction to the Rich Invertebrate Life of a Healthy Stream – join experts and enthusiasts on the Boundary Stream Brent tributary, near Osterley Park.

Monday 25th May 1100-1600, Hanwell Railway Station.
A guided walk, exploring the Brent River Park in the company of CURB, and The West London Ramblers. Refreshment break at Pear Tree Park.

Tuesday 26th May 1900-2100, Paradise Fields, Greenford.
A safari through the ground breaking Ealing Beaver Project in urban Greenford in the expert company of one of the project leaders.

Saturday 30th May – Metroland Studios – (an Elastic Fiction Event)
Coming Into Contact With a River You Cannot Touch – Join artist Becky Lyon for an exhibition reclaiming contact with water through experimental photography, found materials and performative interventions.

Sunday 31st May 1400-1700, The Old Bowls Pavilion, Pitshanger Park, W13
An Exploration of the Brent Monitoring Network – our homemade, low-budget, passive water quality system:
About CURB
CURB is Clean up River Brent and works in association with Thames21. Together with local volunteers including LAGER Can they have removed around 100 tonnes of rubbish from the river. This includes over 500 car tyres.
CURB also have initiated an invasive species replacement programme, planting hundreds of reed and rush rhizomes. CURB reports regularly to Thames Water and the Environment Agency on pollution in the River Brent. They are also currently trialling a self-started network of water quality sensors with the support of the Environment Agency.
