Speakers

Dr Mohamad Saki, is Senior Lecturer in Sustainability and Green Technology in School of Computing and Engineering at University of West London. Will introduce Digital Twins technology and its role in achieving net zero targets, especially in enhancing operational performance within the built environment.

Dr Sarah Bunney, is a Chief Operating Officer at Our Rainwater and Post-doc Research Fellow at University of Exeter working on rainwater management systems. Sarah will show an innovative approach to empower Ealing’s residents in managing rainwater by supporting community-based climate resilience.

Our Rainwater looks at Rainwater management systems, such as ‘slow release’ water butts, rain planters, and rain gardens. These work by capturing the rainwater from your roof and slowing the flow into the drains. Controlling how much rainwater enters the drainage system is really important. By managing this, we ease the pressure on the drainage system. This help to reduce the risk of surface water flooding.

Professor Julie Wall is Professor of AI and Advanced Computing at the University of West London. Focuses on designing intelligent systems to process and model temporal data, with a particular emphasis on speech and language applications. She will present Large Language Models to foster sustainable community actions and resource management.

Abbie Pascoe-Apaw, Ealing Food Partnership Lead, Ealing Council. Will talk about how local businesses can impact the food system and contribute to climate change mitigation and adaptation.
