December Events from Ealing Wildlife Group – 7th December 2024

Join Ealing Wildlife Group in December for a bird walk at Boston Manor and volunteer morning at their Coston Road Nature Reserve. Both events are on Saturday 7th December 2024.

The Boston Manor Bird Walk is between 8.30 and 10am. This is an inform monthly bird walk and survey to record bird species and numbers. Alongside you will enjoying a leisurely walk around the park, and finishing up near the Hub. All levels of knowledge are welcome and no experience is necessary. Do bring binoculars if you have them. Meet on the lake platform, near the park entrance at Boston Gardens just before 8.30.

The event at Costons Lane Nature Reserve takes place between 10am and 2pm. Ealing Wildlife Group in December will be celebrating successes this year and thanking their volunteers . There will be some minced pies and mulled wine. The bird feeders will be filled up too, so the birds can also enjoy a good meal! This session is all about enjoying the reserve, but if anyone wants to get active, there are always plenty of jobs that need doing.

Everyone is welcome, either to help out with the work or simply enjoy the reserve. At the site there lots of things to see including a bird hide, several ponds and wetlands, a small wood, a wildlife garden. Plus a sunny deck to sit back and relax with a cup of tea. You might spot foxes, woodpeckers, slow worms, newts, frogs, spiders, insects, dragonflies, butterflies, Red Kites. Plus at twilight all manner of pondlife and bats. The gated entrance with an EWG sign is on Ruislip Road East. This is across from the Lidl Car Park, between 61 Clifton Road and 31 Costons Lane.

As always, check in here on the Ealing Wildlife Group page for more information and updates on events.
