Inspiration from 2024
Last year judges poured over dozens of incredible entries from households, communities, allotments and schools. Entries ranged from community hanging baskets providing local beauty and essential food for pollinators to “wild” doormats that had evolved into perfect little eco-systems. Whether it was a balcony crammed with plant life of a front garden array of potted flowers, every single entry was making Ealing a more beautiful and biodiverse community for all. Check out just a handful of the entries below….

Plant power
With over 75,000 front gardens throughout the borough and countless more balconies and terraces, together they are a huge force for good. Plants are our superheroes, they reduce pollution, absorb carbon and combat flooding. Plants cool excessive urban temperatures, provide food to pollinators and create homes for mini beasts. Did you know that gardening has also been proven to improve both physical and mental health? The search is on to find green spaces in Ealing that are good for nature and biodiversity.
