Switch Together: Could you be next to join the clean power revolution?

What if you could lower your energy bills, be more resilient to price shocks caused by global events, and help tackle climate change all at the same time? For a growing number of Ealing residents, solar power is providing exactly that.

More than 3,000 properties in the borough already have solar panels installed, and solar energy has never been more popular. In the last 12 months, renewables made up 44% of the UK’s electricity generation, way ahead of fossil fuels. Yet installing solar panels is not just an environmental choice. For many households it is also a long-term investment that can help reduce energy costs and provide protection against future price volatility.

The council is now making it easier to get solar panels by inviting people to sign up to a group buying scheme called Switch Together. This brings households in West London together to access competitive pricing on solar panels and battery storage.

The scheme offers a free, personalised recommendation for your home, with installations carried out by vetted companies accredited through the UK’s Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) and vetted for their reliability. Registration is free and there is no obligation to proceed.

If you own your home and are curious about whether solar could work for you, you can register now at https://switchtogether.co.uk/solar-and-battery/ealing.

Your last chance to get involved will be on the last day of Ealing Climate Week (19-27 September). Learn more on the council’s website: https://www.ealing.gov.uk/solar, or register your interest in the scheme directly.

Could this be the year you finally go solar?
