More about EWG’s Urban Beaver Project
Back in October 2023 a family of Eurasian beavers was successfully released into Paradise Fields in Greenford, Ealing. This a state of the art enclosure created by the Ealing Beaver Project is a 10 hectare site. Of which 8 hectares is now enclosed and home to the beavers. This area is a magical mosaic of mixed habitats including wet woodlands and waterways. Plus meadows dotted with ancient oak standards and large areas of untamed scrubland. This is practically perfect for wildlife and beavers! You can check out more information about EWG’s urban beaver project here.
There are plenty of opportunities to get involved, meet new people and learn skills. This will include observing the amazing impacts that beavers have already made and will continue to make on the site. You can see their ecosystem engineering delivering potentially profound and positive effects for wildlife and the flow of the Coston’s Brook, which crosses the site.
