Join Ealing Wildlife Group (EWG) for a fun nature activity day and “Bio Blitz”. This will be held at Costons Lane Nature Reserve on 31 August 2024..
You can have fun in nature and take part in some citizen science at EWG’s Bio Blitz! Discover just what lives in EWG’s Costons Lane Nature Reserve, and record and observe various plants, insects, animals and birds. Moth traps, and small mammal traps are left out overnight, to capture some of the reserve’s inhabitants. Then you will record those caught at the Bio Blitz and will be submit it to London’s biodiversity database.
If you’re a beginner or experienced naturalist, whatever you see is important! Bug hunters, bird watchers, moth catchers, spider seekers and plant spotters are all welcome! You don’t have to come for the whole event, just pop in, have fun in nature and see what you can find!
The gated entrance with an EWG sign is on Ruislip Road East across from the Greenford Lidl Car Park, between 61 Clifton Road and 31 Costons Lane. There is a sign on the gate. All under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. There is a path but sturdy shoes (and possibly wellies) and long trousers are advisable.
