It’s Recycle Week, Rescue us, recycle us

Join the mission to rescue recyclable items this Recycle Week 2025. This year’s Recycle Week shines a spotlight on missed capture items. These items too often end up in the rubbish but can and should be recycled.

Most commonly thrown away when they could be recycled are:

  • Shampoo bottles
  • Foil
  • Trigger sprays
  • Aerosols
  • Yoghurt pots
  • Toilet roll tubes

Remember to wash and squash the items. With your help, we can make sure these valuable materials get recycled and put back to good use.

All of these items can be recycled from home by putting them in your blue wheelie bin. For full details see Recycling in Ealing.

Why it matters

Waste is anything that we discard – from household rubbish, food scraps and packaging, to broken items, garden waste. Much of this waste could be reused or recycled, but when lost to the rubbish bin, often ends up being incinerated or in landfill – losing these resources forever, and having a greater impact on the environment.
