Join Ealing repair week 2026 and save money

Fixing the stuff you already own is a great way to save money and help the planet. As a part of London Repair Week 2026, Ealing in March has these repair events and we would love to pop along.

Please Contact Us if you have other events happening for Repair Week.

Two in three (64%) people in the UK say they have spent around £277 a year replacing items they think could have been repaired, according to new research published ahead of Repair Week 2026. Repair isn’t just for this week, its for all year round. We have many businesses and organisations in Ealing and London that offer services and support for repair.

Ealing Repair Cafe – Clothes

Ealing Repair Cafe teaches patching and darning clothes and textiles, to get the most of what we already have. They want to get more people valuing and wearing their clothes for longer and to move away from fast disposable fashion. Pop along to one of their friendly monthly gatherings. These sessions focus on repairing clothes and are held around Ealing, teaching mending techniques, giving suggestions and showing examples of repairs done by our community. Follow them on Eventbrite Ealing Repair Cafe and sign up to their email newsletter.

This year Ealing Repair Cafe receives The King’s Award for Voluntary Service, recognising the importance of what they offer to our community. Ealing Clothes Repair Cafe offer workshops, see Ealing Clothes Repair Workshops: Learn to Mend and Upcycle for more details. Support them and help them do more, by donating to the Ealing Repair Cafe Collectiv.

Support local repairers

Around Ealing, we have some great businesses offering repair, such as clothes repair, tools sharpening and small electrical repair.

Why is repair so important?

Waste is a big problem and causes local and internal problems around the world, as our ActForEaling Cut the Crap exhibition illustrates. 71% of Londoners surveyed said that they wanted to develop some repair skills to save cash, Why we care about repair: the importance of championing repair in our communities – ReLondon

In the UK, we discard 155,000 tonnes of electricals every year, instead of reusing or recycling them. That creates e-waste which poses a major threat to the environment, wildlife and to human health. The UK ranks second to Norway in the most e-waste produced a 2022 study has found.

The fashion industry is responsible for 8-10% of global emissions which contributes to climate change and UK shoppers buy more clothes than any other country in Europe. Water use is another big issue and cotton is very thirsty plant. For example, the making of a cotton t-shirt uses 2,700 litres of water, so lets make all those drops of water worth it by wearing it for longer.

Repair Week 2026

Join in with London Repair Week 2026 by coming along to one of the repair events running around Ealing and London. Repair Week highlights the importance of sustainability and shows how much money we can save if we take a little time to fix a repairable item instead of just binning it.
