Rewilding Britain, a charity dedicated to restoring nature, has open applications for the Rewilding Innovation Fund. This fund is offering Rewilding Innovation Grants up to £15,000 to support innovative rewilding projects throughout Britain.
Eligible projects for Rewilding Innovation Grants must be part of Rewilding Britain’s Rewilding Network. Applicants can join when they apply, and must adhere to rewilding principles that benefit nature, climate, and people. Projects need to cover at least 40 hectares, whether land-based or marine, though marine projects can be of any size. The Rewilding Innovation Fund was established to support the increasing number of rewilding projects in Britain, helping them address challenges like securing funding and gaining public support. The application deadline is 30th August 2024.
Why Re-wild?
Rewilding involves large-scale efforts to restore nature to a point where it can thrive independently and support human life as well. This process includes rejuvenating ecosystems, natural processes, and reintroducing missing species where suitable.
Rewilding Britain aims to see rewilding efforts thriving across the country, helping to reconnect people with nature, support local communities, and address the climate emergency and biodiversity loss.
